“We Are Still Here” Exhibition Celebrates Queer AAPI Identity Through Art and Community

Artist and community organizer Liz Lee is curating something powerful: We Are Still Here, a one-day exhibition of self-portraits created by eight queer and AAPI fellows who have spent the past several weeks exploring their identities, the history of the land they live on, and the local movements shaping Atlanta’s future.

📅 Saturday, June 14
🕓 4:00–9:00 PM
📍 Empire Arts Gallery

The exhibition is more than just an art show—it’s a vibrant celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and Pride Month, as well as a fundraiser for PAQuA (Pan Asian Queers Atlanta), a grassroots collective supporting queer and trans Asian and Desi communities in the South.

Attendees can expect:
🎤 Open mic performances
🎨 Stunning self-portrait art
🛍️ Local vendors and advocacy orgs
🍹 Refreshments
🌈 A full evening of queer joy and community connection

Whether you’re coming to uplift local artists, shop from queer AAPI vendors, or just soak in the atmosphere with friends—you’re invited.
